Helen McHargue: A One Sentence Story

 Celia C. Coyote.jpg
After the cannon shot, as she was free falling through the air, dyslexic stunt woman Celia (Alice) C. Coyote chuckled to herself through her blackened teeth about how much she’d learned from cousin Wile E. Coyote and his insane pursuit of Road Runner with implausible mail order gadgets he ordered from the bastards at the ACME company, like the Jet Propelled Unicycle and the infamous Spring Powered Shoes, and with her hand on the parachute control of her new Never-Ever-Ever-Ever-Ever Fail Computerized Coyote Chute made by electronics giant EMAC, she gave it the final tap, bracing herself for the engagement snap while the ground came up to meet her and she fell faster and faster frantically pressing the button and realizing when she smashed through the earth, in a final moment of non-dyslexic clarity, the slicksters at ACME aka EMAC, had suckered themselves yet another Coyote.
